Dr. Suh Yah

Suh Yah is an interdisciplinary researcher whose work bridges biohydrometallurgy, environmental microbiology, and public health. With affiliations in Southern Africa, Yah has contributed to innovative approaches in sustainable resource extraction and infectious disease research, reflecting a commitment to addressing both industrial and community health challenges.

In mineral biotechnology, Yah’s research advances bioleaching of platinum group metals and the use of biogenic cyanide as a greener alternative to conventional cyanidation. These studies highlight expertise in microbial processes, process optimization, and sustainable metallurgical design, supporting environmentally responsible recovery of critical minerals.

Yah has also published on antimicrobial resistance, water microbiology, HIV prevention, PMTCT knowledge, digital health interventions, and arboviral surveillance.
