Aspro Corlia Brandt

Corlia Brandt is a South African physiotherapy researcher whose work spans pelvic health, women’s health, and sports science. Her scholarship addresses context-specific healthcare challenges in sub-Saharan Africa, with a strong focus on improving access to urogynaecological services, clinician training, and patient education. She contributes to international collaborations examining resource gaps, workforce capacity, and culturally responsive care in low- and middle-income settings.

In pelvic health, her research explores urinary incontinence, pelvic floor disorders, and cross-cultural adaptation of clinical assessment tools. She has led and co-authored studies on healthcare provider workload, diagnostic limitations, and guideline development for rehabilitation, strengthening evidence-based practice and supporting capacity building across diverse healthcare systems.

Brandt is also active in applied sports science, particularly women’s cricket. Her publications investigate injury profiles, biomechanical and physical performance characteristics, and female-specific considerations in sport. Through systematic reviews and cohort studies, she advances understanding of sex-specific training, injury prevention, and athlete development, bridging clinical physiotherapy and high-performance sport.
