Dr. Priya Walabh

Priya Walabh is a South African clinician-researcher in pediatric hepatology and liver transplantation, affiliated with the University of the Witwatersrand and associated transplant centers in Johannesburg. Her work centers on improving access, outcomes, and equity in liver transplantation within resource-constrained settings.

Her research explores pediatric acute liver failure, prognostic scoring systems, and post-transplant complications including cytomegalovirus disease and post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder. She has also contributed to molecular studies of hepatitis B and complex pediatric hepatobiliary conditions, reflecting expertise that bridges clinical care and translational virology.
