Dr. Natasha Naidu

Natasha Naidu is an ophthalmology researcher whose work focuses on paediatric glaucoma, intraocular pressure measurement, and health systems in sub-Saharan Africa. Affiliated with clinical and academic ophthalmic practice in South Africa, her research reflects a strong commitment to improving diagnostic accuracy and surgical care within resource-constrained settings.

Her study in African Vision and Eye Health examines differences between rebound and applanation tonometry in children with and without primary congenital glaucoma, highlighting the influence of corneal thickness on intraocular pressure readings. This work contributes to safer, more reliable paediatric glaucoma assessment and informs clinical decision-making under anaesthesia.

In Tropical Medicine and Health, she co-authored a multicentre analysis of the impact of COVID-19 on ophthalmic surgery across sub-Saharan Africa, offering regional insight into service disruption and recovery planning. Based on the currently available publications, her scholarship demonstrates strengths in collaborative research, clinical methodology, and public health-oriented ophthalmology.
