Aspro John Devar

John Devar is an academic clinician–researcher in hepatopancreatobiliary surgery with a strong focus on pancreatic and biliary malignancies in African populations. His work bridges surgical practice and translational science, contributing to European consensus guidelines on complex colorectal liver metastases while also advancing mentorship initiatives within the HPB community.

His research centers on molecular and metabolic profiling of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, gallbladder cancer, and acute pancreatitis. Through proteomics, metabolomics, and immune pathway analyses, he has identified dysregulated proteins, complement signaling mechanisms, and lipid alterations linked to disease severity and tumor progression, highlighting potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
