Aspro Nimmisha Govind

Nimmisha Govind is a South African rheumatologist and academic whose work centers on rheumatoid arthritis and idiopathic inflammatory myopathies, with a strong focus on African populations. Affiliated with leading academic institutions in South Africa, her research integrates clinical rheumatology, immunology, and genomics to address gaps in data from underrepresented groups.

Her scholarship explores pulmonary complications in myositis, rheumatoid arthritis–associated interstitial lung disease, osteoporosis in RA, and functional outcomes in chronic inflammatory disease.
