Dr. Andre Theron

Andre Theron is a South African paediatric surgeon whose work centers on congenital colorectal anomalies and complex neonatal surgical conditions. Affiliated with major academic hospitals linked to the University of the Witwatersrand, his research has significantly advanced understanding of anorectal malformations within diverse regional populations, integrating epidemiology, clinical outcomes, and health system factors.

His publications demonstrate a sustained focus on anorectal malformations, including birth prevalence studies, subtype comparisons across international settings, and evaluation of surgical strategies such as colostomy techniques and posterior sagittal anorectoplasty.
