Dr. John Musonda

John Mukuka Musonda is a South African academic in the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care, School of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of the Witwatersrand. His scholarship centres on strengthening primary health care systems, with a strong focus on preventive services and chronic disease management in resource-constrained settings.

His publications highlight cervical cancer screening among women, particularly those living with HIV, examining uptake, abnormal cytology burden, tobacco use, and programmatic gaps in Gauteng. This work underscores the need for integrated, context-sensitive prevention strategies and improved policy implementation within primary care.

Musonda has also contributed to research on anticoagulation control across Sub-Saharan Africa, severe asthma management, and sexual assault care, reflecting broad public health and clinical interests.
