Adj Ugasvaree Subramaney

Professor Ugasvaree Subramaney is a South African psychiatrist and academic leader whose work focuses on forensic psychiatry, correctional mental health, and public sector mental health systems. Affiliated with leading South African academic and clinical institutions, she has contributed extensively to understanding the intersection of trauma, severe mental illness, violent offending, and HIV within vulnerable populations.

Her research explores adverse childhood experiences, gendered pathways to violent crime, and psychiatric morbidity among female inmates and state patients charged with serious offences.
