Dr. Heena Ranchod

Heena Ranchod is a South African clinician-scientist whose work spans immunology, infectious diseases, and public health. Her research bridges laboratory investigation and clinical application, with a strong focus on immune responses in HIV, vaccine-preventable diseases, and allergy diagnostics. She has contributed to multidisciplinary collaborations addressing pressing health challenges in the regional context.

Her recent studies explore immunological biomarkers in HIV-associated diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, highlighting the prognostic relevance of cytokines and inflammatory proteins. She has also examined alloimmunity and its potential protective role in HIV acquisition, as well as immune dysfunction in primary immunodeficiency complicated by vaccine-derived infections, reflecting expertise in translational and clinical immunology.
