Overview
Supports mentored postdoctoral research training that prepares promising researchers for independent careers in health-related science. Training and mentorship must fit the mission of a participating NIH institute or centre.
Eligibility
Wits may host an eligible fellow, but the individual must be a US citizen, US national or US permanent resident by the award date. Applicants need a research or clinical doctorate before the fellowship starts. Training outside the US requires a specific scientific justification.
Additional deadlines
Next application deadline, including permitted resubmissions: 8 December 2026. Submit by 17:00 local time of the applicant organisation. Call expiration: 8 May 2028. This is separate from the application deadline.
