Overview
Supports new brain stimulation devices or substantial improvements in stimulation precision, depth or targeting for mental health disorders. Routine device updates and clinical trials are outside this exploratory development call.
Funding amount
Up to USD 275,000 in direct costs over 2 years; maximum USD 200,000 per year
Eligibility
Wits may apply as a non-US higher education institution. Proposals must fit this call and the mission of a participating institute; institutional registrations and funder requirements apply.
Additional deadlines
Next new-application deadline: 16 October 2026. Next renewal/resubmission/revision deadline, where permitted: 16 November 2026. Submit by 17:00 local time of the applicant organisation. Call expiration: 8 January 2028. This is separate from the application deadline.
