Forensic Psychiatry

The Forensic Psychiatry department is part of the School of Clinical Medicine in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.

Its research strengths lie in psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, mental health and public health, with attention to clinical assessment and medico-legal practice.

Further themes include psychopathology, substance use and criminal behaviour, with work focused on South Africa and its mental health and justice settings.
