Clinical Medicine

The Department of Clinical Medicine is part of the School of Clinical Medicine in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.

Its research strengths are drawn from clinical and health sciences publication data, with activity across internal medicine, public health, infectious diseases, cardiology and oncology, alongside work in epidemiology and health services research.

Further themes include chronic disease management, HIV and tuberculosis research, and maternal and child health. Much of the research is focused on South Africa, with studies also set in other countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
